Author: Chris Joyce, Director of Sales & Marketing

Welcome to “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk from the American Dairy Association North East! Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!

Cross Country: Katelyn Tuohy (North Rockland) set another course record this past week, winning the Suffolk Officials Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park in a time of 16:52.97.

Girls Swimming & Diving: Isabella Fountain (Briarcliff-Pleasantville-Westlake-Valhalla) swam the 50 Freestyle in 24.31, posting the third-best time in the state so far this season.

Boys Soccer: Jackson Vogt (Penfield) scored two goals and an assist in a first round Sectional game against Victor. One of Vogt’s goals was a game-winning penalty kick in overtime.

Girls Soccer: Grace Sobus (Waterloo) had a huge day in the goal, posting 17 saves in a 4-2 win over Wayland-Cohocton.

Field Hockey: Hayleigh Holland (Pittsford Mendon) scored three goals and added two assists in a big win over Webster Schroeder.

Boys Volleyball: Brandon Shepard (Fairport) dished out 34 assists in a three-game sweep of Webster.

Football: Mike Rigerman (Pioneer) rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-20 win over Springville. Rigerman also returned two interceptions for scores on defense.

This concludes our Milk Moves of the Week series for the fall season. Best of luck to all of our student-athletes competing in the postseason!
