Welcome to “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk from the American Dairy Association North East! Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!
Wrestling: Anthony Conetta (Massapequa) went 4-0 at the NYSPHSAA Dual Meet Championships to help his team win the Division 1 state championship.
Boys Basketball: Joe Girard III (Glens Falls) racked up 52 points in a win over Amsterdam, becoming the first player in state history to surpass the 4,000 career points.
Boys Swimming & Diving: Jonathan Ma (Ardsley-Hast-Dobbs-Irv) finished the 100 Butterfly in 51.15, hitting a state-qualifying time.
Girls Basketball: Allison Moreau (Sauquoit Valley) led her team with 36 points, as well as 12 rebounds for a double-double.
Boys Indoor Track & Field: Jesse Parson (New Rochelle) ran the 55mH in 7.37 seconds at the Bullis Champion Speed Invitational, setting the best time in the state so far this season.
Boys Ice Hockey: Hunter Pemrick (CBA Albany) scored four goals and added an assist to lead his team to victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Spa. Pemrick is now the school’s all-time leading scorer with 125 points.
Girls Indoor Track & Field: Jenna Shultz (Liverpool) set a new school record in the 3000m, finishing in 9:47 at the Utica Challenge.
