Author: Roxanne Trama, NYSPHSAA Intern
Welcome to our first spring edition of “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk and the American Dairy Association North East. Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we’ll share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!
Girls Lacrosse: Bailey Thomas (General Brown) racked up 11 points, scoring 5 goals and had 6 assists in a win over Watertown.
Boys Lacrosse: Matt Abatangelo (Valley Central) scored 7 goals and added two assists in a big win over Middletown.
Boys Track & Field: Anthony Harrison (Ramapo) broke a Section I record in discus, throwing 173 ft 10 inches at the Pearl River Pirate Relays.
Softball: Isabella Milazzo (Ichabod Crane) struck out 12 batters in a 5-inning perfect game victory over Holy Names.
Girls Track & Field: Kayleigh Robinson (Mount Sinai) ran the 400mH in 1:03.71 at the Longwood Track Classic, good for the fastest time in the state so far this season.
