Welcome back to our “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk from the American Dairy Association North East! Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!
Boys Soccer: Joe Beatty (Lewiston- Porter) had 18 saves in the 1-0 shutout against Niagara Frontier.
Girls Soccer: Jada Brown (Mechanicville) netted 5 goals and added an assist in a big win over Tamarac.
Boys Cross Country: Michael Danzi (Smithtown) won the boys championship division of the Brown Invitational with a time of 15:29.24.
Girls Field Hockey: Megan Doyle (Hackettstown) tallied a pair of goals to give her team the 2-0 in sectional play.
Football: James Galarneau (Stillwater) rushed for 250 yards and 4 touchdowns on 10 carries in a win over Fonda-Fultonville.
Girls Swimming & Diving: Chloe Stepanek (Northport) set the state record for two events in her last meet. She swam the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.71 and the 500 freestyle in 4:54.62.
Girls Cross Country: Katelyn Tuohy (North Rockland) won the girls varsity 1 race by 500 meters with a time of 17:22.1.
Girls Volleyball: Jessie Wilson (Argyle) recorded 16 assists, 16 digs, 6 kills, and 4 aces in the 3-0 win over Hartford.
