Welcome to the final fall edition of “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk from the American Dairy Association North East! Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!

Football: Fombo Azah (Carthage) ran for 6 touchdowns and 311 yards on 20 carries to help beat Auburn 49-14.

Girls Soccer: Lucy Getzin (Ithaca) had two goals in the 3-2 overtime win against Corning. This win sends Ithaca to the Section IV finals.

Field Hockey: Julia Gregory (Vernon) scored the game winning goal to beat Hackettstown 3-2 and send her team to the finals.

Girls Cross Country: Leonni Griffin (Shaker) won the Division I title at the Grout run for the second year in a row as an 8th grader covering the 2.75 mile course with a time of 15:25.71.

Girls Volleyball: Emily Kubicsko (Lakeland) finished with 15 kills, 20 digs, 3 aces, and 4 blocks in a comeback in over Tappan Zee 3-2.

Girls Swimming & Diving: Alexa Reyna (White Plains) swam the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:53.99 to give her the New York State record as an 8th grader.

Boys Soccer: Daniel Schaeber (Liverpool) had 12 saves in the double OT shutout beating the previously undefeated Fayetteville- Manlius 1-0.

Boys Cross Country: Daniel Shephard (North Rockland) ran a 5k with a time of 15:34.2 to claim first place in the Rockland Cross- Country Championships.
