Milk Moves of the Week - January 29, 2020

Welcome to our “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk from the American Dairy Association North East! Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!

Boys Ice Hockey:? Ben Burns (Suffern) scored two goals and an assist to help defeat Pelham.

Bowling: Hunter Chandler (Saratoga) rolled a 774 triple, including a perfect 300, to help his team defeat Bethlehem.

Girls Basketball: Avery Mills (Averill Park) posted a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Colonie.

Boys Swimming & Diving: Bryce Henkel (Albany Academy) recorded a 50.98s time in the 100 Butterfly event.  

Boys Basketball: Ja’vaughn Jones (Buffalo Health Sciences) finished with 32 points, 11 rebounds, 11 steals, and 10 assists to earn a quadruple-double in a 78-71 win against Tapestry Charter.  

Boys Wrestling: Justin McDougald (Niagara Wheatfield) set a school record with his 223rd career victory this weekend against Grand Island.  McDougald is 32-1 this season.

Girls Indoor Track & Field: Leah Pasqualetti (Orchard Park) cleared 14 feet in the pole vault event Saturday in the 8th annual Trent Jackson/Cedric Walker Invitational.

Boys Indoor Track & Field: Preston Bova, Brian Gleason, Connor O’Brian, & Josh Peron (Frontier) broke the Section VI record for the 3,200-meter relay with 7:56.05 during the 8th annual Trent Jackson/Cedrick Walker Invitational. Their accomplishment currently stands as the No. 1 time in the state this season.
