Milk Moves of the Week - February 19, 2020

Welcome to our final winter edition of “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk from the American Dairy Association North East! Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!

Girls Track and Field: Mia D’Ambrosio (Schalmont) won the 55m with a time of 7.02 at the Eastern States Championship, good for the best time in the state so far this season  

Boys Ice Hockey:  John Dublanyk (Plattsburgh) put together a 50 save shutout performance in a tie against Beekmantown  

Boys Swimming & Diving: Jake Lester (New Hartford) earned four section titles at the Section III Boys Swimming Championships, winning the 200-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay  

Wrestling: Sean Malenfant (Averill Park) improved his undefeated season to 39-0 by pinning his opponent in the 152-pound Section 2 title match  

Girls Basketball: Alahna Paige (Irondequoit) scores 47 points, including a school-record 10 three pointers, en route to a victory over Canandaigua 

Boys Track and Field:  Christian Quinn (Freeport) placed first in Long Jump at the Section VIII Class A Championship with a PR of 23’ 3.5”  

Boys Basketball:  Adam Sheehan (Bloomfield) racked up a triple double in a win over Naples, scoring 16 points along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists
