[Read more] Interstate Contests All teams traveling out-of-state MUST call/write/email the NYSPHSAA office (or go through their Section office) to give NOTICE OF ENTRY before attending an event in another state. NYSPHSAA members and schools approved through the NY Federation of HS Athletic Associations MAY NOT participate against a NON-MEMBER or non-approved school from another state. Out-of-State Team Travel NYSPHSAA member schools and member NYS Federation schools MAY NOT participate against a NON-MEMBER from another state. Interstate Tournaments involving more than eight (8) schools or schools from five (5) or more states must be sanctioned through the NYSPHSAA office. Any interstate competition co-sponsored by an organization outside of the high school community must be sanctioned through the NYSPHSAA office and the National Federation. Member schools (NYSPHSAA and Federation) may only participate against teams in two-team contests between schools in good standing with their state associations. Contests must be scheduled and administered by the participating schools with the "home school" designated as the host HS. Any outside agency must be designated as co-sponsor.
