Sanctioning and Competition Between States

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) have adopted procedures and forms for sanctioning of interstate athletic events.

If your school attends or hosts invitational or tournaments which involve athletes/schools from out of state, please familiarize yourself with the sanctioning procedures.

Hosting?

Your school files application for sanction, based on these requirements.

Attending?

Your school must ensure that the contest is a sanctioned contest by filing a notice of entry with the NYSPHSAA in writing, by phone (518.690.0771, Ext. 16) or e-mail (bsacci@nysphsaa.org).

All sanction forms and financial forms may be obtained from the NYSPHSAA web site, the National Federation website or by calling the NYSPHSAA office at 518.690.0771.
